Rent Ready Standards & Requirements

How to Prepare a Raleigh Rental Property for Leasing

Preparing rental property for tenants requires more than basic cleaning and repairs. These rent ready requirements are designed to ensure properties are properly prepared for marketing, showings, leasing, and long-term resident success in the Raleigh and Triangle rental market.

In today’s competitive Raleigh rental market, residents expect clean, professionally prepared properties that are fully move-in ready before showings begin.

A property must meet all requirements outlined below prior to photography, showings, and tenant placement. These are the minimum standards required for a property to be considered rent ready and approved for marketing and leasing. Properties that do not meet these standards will not be listed.

These standards are designed to:

  • Protect the condition of the asset

  • Reduce time on market

  • Attract qualified residents

  • Minimize post-move-in maintenance and disputes
